So You Think You Can Dance Season 5 Episode 2 - Standard Faire

I thought that last night's show was pretty standard stuff. I would have thought that the Miami auditions and the Memphis auditions could have brought a little more flare to So You Think You Can Dance. Even the judges seemed a bit lack luster.

Here are my impressions of the dancers . . .

Miami auditions-
Janette and Romulo - great tricks that got a scream out of Mary Murphy. Though they need to stick to Salsa and not reveal their lack of break skills ever again.
Joeseph Smith - fresh style, very entertaining.
Silky - WOW, great fusion of tap and hip-hop. amazing cartwheel into slide. original. started tapping to "get the girls".
Paris - not sure if I'm buying the whole Miss Washinton story. Interesting contemporary dance
Geo Smith - Birdman, eh.
Talia - the Widow. I can feel for her but I thought she was a bit weak in her dance performance.

Memphis auditions-
Marico - Memhpis jukin'. This guy is a pure illusionist. Not sure if what you are seeing is real .
Caitlin - nice shorts
Anna - what's with the one shoe??
Travis - w/football coach for a dad. Thought he was also weak. Nice relationship with his dad.
Evan - classic Jazz. eh, I'm not into the retro thing.
Guerra twins - very cute. very synchronized
Ryan - Evans brother, Whoppie Tap. nice tap skills. didn't like when he tried to take credit for his brother's dance

What was with all those kids dropping their tickets????

Can't wait till we get to Vegas.
