So You Think You Can Dance - Top 20

Well, the Top 20 were chosen last night. . . so next week "So You Think You Can Dance" will REALLY begin.

The only thing that bugged me during the Top 20 picks. . . was when Mia and Lil' C ganged up on Brandon (probably the strongest technical dancer). Mia said he "bugged the shit out of her" and she didn't understand why the other judges had all made such a fuss over him. Debbie Allen stood up for Brandon and Mary said that she refused to sit there and listen to such crap.

** ANY dancer at ANY audition deserves to be treated with respect!!!

I have lost a lot of respect for Mia Michaels. (does she have a problem with well trained, smiling dancers?? - we all know she favors the full-figured dancers who are strong and "raw" and full of emotion).

I think Brandon showed a lot of class. . . but Mia needs to apologize to him.

Can't wait 'til next week.

The judges cut 45 dancers after the solo round, 37 after hip-hop, 16 after ballroom, 13 after contemporary, etc. etc.

I am surprised (but not disappointed) at how many lockers, poppers, and breakers were sent home.

I don't understand why Natalie was cut after performing Mia Michaels combination. She was one of the strongest dancers and a lot of us wanted her to have a chance this season. (Last season she was cut and her roommate Katie went on the show). The judges made the comment that she didn't live up to their expectations. . . excuse me. . . the judges need to JUDGE what they are seeing on the stage. . . not what's in their heads!!



It's going to be interesting to see who makes the top 20 tonight. . . because the early favorites (that the producers "featured") have been sent home.

I'm going to go "out on a limb" and predict that the winner of So You Think You Can Dance 2009 is going to be a woman. . . I've seen some strong male dancers, but I’ve also seen some short, bald, overweight, gangly, bad feet, no personality men.

Wah Wah Wah Wah. . . have you ever seen so many crying dancers?? I wonder if the producers tell them if you cry we’ll put you on camera.
