So You Think You Can Dance 2009 Episode 9 - Another Two Bite the Dust

Here are the couples that were in the bottom three:

CAITLIN & JASON
ASHLEY & KUPONO
KAYLA & MAX

*** The first 2 couples are the ones that did SHANE SPARKS routines. . . hmmmmmm.

Anyway, after dancing their solos the judges sent ASHLEY and MAX home. ( I totally agreed with their choices)

Next week KAYLA (one of my favorites) is going to have to dance with KUPONO. . . which is a huge disadvantage because the other couples have been together for a few weeks.

Surprise of the night = CAT DEELEY wore a pants suit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Modifying your Manipulation of Movement ?!?!

Yes - that was one of many flowery, flowing sentences that LIL ' C said during last night’s episode of So You Think you Can Dance. I'm not sure what he was saying. . . but it really sounded good!!

Cat Deeley is soooo gorgeous. . . why do they make her wear curtains??

I'm bugged. . . every season I complain about the camera work and the flashing lights. I wish the cameras would just pull back and let us see the dancers and how they use the floor.

Now onto the dancers and the dances they performed. I thought it was very strange that the 2 weakest dances were choreographed by SHANE SPARKS. (the hip hop seemed weak and the "story" wasn't consistent). It wouldn't surprise me if ASHLEY & KUPONO and CAITLIN & JASON are in the bottom 3.

JEANINE & PHILLIP's tango wasn't that great. . . but PHILLIP seems to really be an audience favorite.

ASUKA & VITOLIO were in the bottom 3 last week and I think they might be there again. The waltz was beautiful but not much substance (but it did make Mary cry!!)

As I'm writing this - I'm realizing that I thought this weeks dances / dancers were a little weak.

RANDI & EVAN'S jive was cute. JANETTE & BRANDON'S disco was cute.

The one dancer that I LOVED LOVED LOVED is KAYLA (her and MAX did a pop jazz) but I don't like MAX that much. I also LOVED the dance. . . but others in my family didn't!!

It will be interesting to see if the call in voters are voting for the dances or the dancers. I think that at this point of So You Think You Can Dance there are some definite favorites . . . and they are not the strongest dancers!!

But you gotta remember - we are voting for " Americas FAVORITE dancer". . . not "Americas BEST dancer".
